Bumblebees, turtles, ants, frogs, swans and elephants … In Chromatique, a dancer and a musician bring an imaginary, teeming zoo to life. Here, you encounter bizarre animals and perhaps even a mermaid, you listen to the buzzing of insects, the sound of rain and the deep song of whales. Inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns’s Carnival of the Animals (1886), this duo perpetuates its humour and fantasy. Fluorescent colours, dances and pop-electro music harmonise in a poetic and unexpected way, activating a multitude of images and sensations within us. Isn’t that the very essence of imagination?
